Safety Program
At A&W Construction Services, Inc., we take our safety program very seriously. We sincerely believe that every employee deserves to be protected from the hazards of our work space and deserves to return home uninjured at the end of each day.
We have a comprehensive safety program notebook that has been developed constantly over the past several years. We add new safety topics, material data safety sheets, safety articles, accident reports and OSHA updates monthly. The first Tuesday of each and every month is known as our Safety Day, with mandatory attendance company-wide in a safety meeting held at our office. Along with monthly meetings, we perform daily on-the-job safety reviews, especially with new employees. Employees are encouraged to bring in topics, shared incidences and suggestions.
Our employees are highly trained and “Competent Persons” in many important safety areas.
- Scaffolding
- Our most dangerous hazard and one that all of our employees are exposed to. We review and discuss this vital safety concern every month in our meeting, including the correct erection and dismantling, OSHA standards and safe working habits.
- High Reach Lifts
- Our safety director has been certified as a trainer in the hazards and safe operation of all types of lifts, lulls and fork lifts. All of our employees carry this certification.
- First Aid and CPR

- Our ever growing topics in our meetings cover everything from snake bites to heat exposure. Every safety training session is designed to educate and not waste our time giving only lip service to safety topics.
- O.S.H.A.
- We take exposure and compliance with OSHA very seriously. We have had some good and bad experiences with OSHA. We have learned many valuable lessons.
